Find exactly what you're looking for, we did the hard work so you can focus on your games.Ĭurated from the global community of game artists.
The only exception I have seen to this is Celianna's and Lunarea's tiles, which use the VX RTP as a base, and they are free for non-commercial, but require you to buy a license if you choose to use them in a commercial game.Free for commercial and non-commercial games, click on the author to check the terms start using on your games. Other sites don't seem to care, as long as it's not commercial. But I do know the people at RMW take this very seriously and do follow up on these reports. Whether EB follows up with this or not, I don't know, nor do I know what actions they take. Store bought resources have their own terms you'll need to follow, and edits from store bought resources cannot be shared. But if you create your own stuff from scratch I don't think it matters what you base it on. I think even if you edit RTP you can still only use it for Enterbrain engines. I made some original tiles and sprites using the Enterbrain stuff as a base - is that allowed for a non-RM game or is that a no? But I do recall hearing or reading about their use in projects like movies, commercials, and other forms of entertainment that wouldn't apply to RM, so I imagine they're available even for non RM ayam goreng berempah. Unfortunately, finding the exact wording is near impossible, and wayback machine didn't help. I've seen at least one posted on Steam using a different game editor. The license doesn't state it, but if my memory serves me right, these resources were allowed in whatever you wanted to use them in even non-RM projects. As for distributing them, well, that's a bit impossible to avoid, now. So they are free to use, commerical-wise, but they are still copyrighted, meaning you can't try and sell these resources by themselves, or claim you made them. When you want to get these resources, go to the website above. You must not use the graphic data which is in this software, for the purpose except playing this game.
Moreover, please clearly forbid extracting image data and using them from your game. It only means "no charge to use" and "no need to ask our permission". Although our resources are distributed as a free material, this does NOT mean "copyright abandoned". Not sure if the terms are listed there, however, the Mack tilesets were allowed for commercial use, free of charge. You can still find them around the communities. I know that some external made tilesets use Enterbrain stuff as a template and as I understand it you cannot use Enterbrain graphics outside RM products so I was wondering if anyone knew if it was OK to use the Mack stuff in a non-RM project. I want to make a game with a different engine, not RM related, and it comes with no tiles to use so I was wondering about using the Mack tilesets from First Seed Material.
